About the Role

Dig’s Rod Shop is hiring an experienced Classic Car Disassembly & Reassembly Technician. This is a hands-on role for a detail-oriented, self-driven professional with a passion for classic automotive restoration. You’ll be responsible for the careful removal and reinstallation of body, paint, and chassis components, along with some light electrical work. Your work will directly impact the fit, finish, and overall quality of every vehicle that leaves our shop.

This is not an entry-level position. Only experienced candidates with their own tools will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full and partial disassembly and reassembly of classic vehicles with care and accuracy
  • Remove and reinstall body panels, trim, glass, bumpers, and other paint-related components
  • Remove and reinstall chassis parts such as suspension, steering, brake systems, fuel systems, and driveline components
  • Assist in wiring or light automotive electrical work as needed
  • Tag, organize, and store removed components to preserve original condition and ensure accuracy during reassembly
  • Collaborate with fabricators, painters, and mechanics throughout the build process
  • Identify and communicate issues with parts fitment, damage, or needed repairs
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow all shop safety protocols, including use of PPE and proper handling of materials

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in classic car restoration, disassembly/reassembly, or related automotive work- (Willing to train the right person).
  • Proficient in safe removal and installation of classic vehicle components
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of vintage vehicle systems
  • Basic knowledge of automotive wiring and electrical diagnostics
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, crouch, and stand for extended periods
  • Must have your own tools
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
  • Must pass background and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with paint prep or finish work
  • Welding or fabrication knowledge
  • Familiarity with rare or custom-built vehicles.
